Frequently Asked Questions

How do I enroll my child in Beaches Episcopal School and when should the application be submitted?

Contact the Beaches Episcopal School Director of Admissions, Ashley Davis, to request an admissions packet or download an application for admission online. Applications are accepted one year before, usually in the fall prior to the start of school.

What criteria are used for admission to Beaches Episcopal School?

Students applying to pre-kindergarten and kindergarten at Beaches Episcopal School are administered the Gesell Developmental Assessment. Students first grade through sixth grade are evaluated using various standardized measures.

Is extended day available?

Yes.
Before school care offered from 7:00 a.m. – 7:45 a.m.
After-school care for pre-kindergarten from 12:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Kindergarten through sixth grade from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Can parents volunteer?

Absolutely. Beaches Episcopal School parents are an integral part of our school community and are actively involved in many areas of campus life. The Parent Support Organization (PSO) offers a wide range of opportunities for parents to share their time and talent.

Are there after-school programs at Beaches Episcopal School?

Students can choose from a wide variety of after-school activities for an additional fee determined by individual program coordinators. After-school programs such as Act It Out (a Reader’s Theatre-type program), F.A.C.E. (an acronym for Fitness and Character Education), Minecraft, Cooking, Tennis, Running Club, Young Rembrants, Cheerleading, Flag Football, Battleball, and Piano Lessons are offered each trimester. All after-school instructors have taken the Safeguarding God’s Children class as specified by the Episcopal Diocese, and the school has a copy of the instructor/program’s current insurance liability certificate on file.

What Jacksonville private schools or public schools do students who graduate from Beaches Episcopal School attend?

Traditionally, the largest majority of Beaches Episcopal School students continue on at Episcopal School of Jacksonville. Additionally, some Beaches Episcopal School students go on to attend many secondary Florida Council of Independent Schools (FCIS) plus other St. Johns County and Duval County public and magnet schools.

Do your students attend Chapel?

All students at Beaches Episcopal School attend chapel services on Wednesday mornings in the church. On Monday mornings, students in PreK3 through second grade attend Lower School Chapel in the church. On Friday mornings, students in kindergarten through sixth grade attend a Flag Ceremony in McCormick Hall, complete with prayers, the Pledge of Allegiance, and announcements.

Do families have to be Episcopalian to attend Beaches Episcopal School?

No. Episcopal schools are a direct outgrowth of church mission. They are a concrete expression of the Church's care for young people and their families, and of the belief that God calls us to love all God's children.

Do you have a lunch program?

Yes. Students may bring lunch from home or participate in our lunch program. Lunches can be ordered online monthly.

Is financial aid available at Beaches Episcopal School?

Yes. Financial aid is available to families that qualify with students in kindergarten through sixth grade. Applications for financial aid are available upon request after January 1st prior to the school year the child will be attending.
