From time to time, the Board of Trustees and the Head of School, following extensive strategic planning, will initiate a capital campaign. We are excited to report that Beaches Episcopal School’s Capital Campaign, “The Future is Now” is progressing nicely and has to date raised $2,000,000.00.
First and foremost, thank you to each and every one of you who has joined the campaign and contributed so generously. Also, a big thank you for the enthusiastic efforts of our Board of Trustees and their devotion to this campaign, which has been instrumental in our current success!
Past capital campaigns have enabled Beaches Episcopal School to move from a single building campus where grades K-6 and all of the enrichment classes were in the same building, to a two building campus. This allowed us to increase the size of our classrooms and provided each enrichment class with a designated space of their own. We are deeply grateful for the support so many individuals and families have given the school over the years to enable us to reach our goals and deliver an outstanding educational experience.
Most recently, through the initial success of our current campaign, we celebrated the completion of Phase I, which was the addition of a new playground, basketball court, track and playfield. This exceptional outdoor space is used daily for physical education classes as well as recess.
Like all independent schools, our yearly operating budget cannot accommodate facilities growth. These needs must be met by committed individuals, families, and foundations that will make capital gifts in addition to their regular annual support of the school. Capital gift payments may be made over a period of one to five years.
We encourage all of you associated with Beaches Episcopal School to join us in the extremely important campaign to enhance our facility and fulfill Phase II of our plan. Any contribution is important to us in realizing our goal. We are sensitive to the economic challenges for this endeavor, but we also know that the success of this campaign is vital to the future of Beaches Episcopal School.
Again, thank you so much for the many generous donations and pledges that have brought us to where we are today. If you are interested in our capital campaign or have any questions at all, please contact, Michelle Leemis, Director of Development at 246-2466, ext. 137 or at mleemis@beachesepiscopalschool.org.
The Board of Trustees and the Head of School have identified the need to expand our campus and add a new building, as well as make minor renovations to our current facilities. Building projects or programs require large sums of money to implement however, contributions to these projects may be pledged over a number of years. Capital campaign gifts are tax deductible and are specifically targeted for advancing special programs. Tax-deductible capital campaign gifts remain vital to our school's continuing success.
If you'd like to contribute to this important endeavor, please download and print a Capital Campaign Pledge Card here and return to the school office.
