The Beaches Episcopal School family celebrated together on Thursday, May 20th with an awesome groundbreaking ceremony to kick off the building of the new playground, basketball court and playfield. What a way to start the day! A beautiful reception was held in Christopher Hall following the ceremony.
To finally be at the point where we are building something that our children will enjoy when they return to school in August is incredibly gratifying. A special thanks is extended to Reverend Penny for leading us in prayer and blessing the construction site, Jackie Busse and Dan Popky for their inspirational words, and of course Jim Meyer, the consummate cheerleader who lead us all, but especially the children, into a frenzy of excitement! A very special thanks to the BES Brownie Troop who so generously donated to the Capital Campaign and lead us in the Pledge of Allegiance. These girls embody the very character of our students and school community! Every year, our sixth graders leave a legacy with the money they’ve raised throughout the year. This year, they have decided to give a gracious donation to the playground. We hope that this event will only be the beginning as we look to break ground on the new educational building in the near future.
The Board of Trustees and the Head of School have identified the need to expand our campus and add a new building, as well as make minor renovations to our current facilities. Building projects or programs require large sums of money to implement however, contributions to these projects may be pledged over a number of years. Capital campaign gifts are tax deductible and are specifically targeted for advancing special programs. Tax-deductible capital campaign gifts remain vital to our school's continuing success.
If you'd like to contribute to this important endeavor, please download and print a Capital Campaign Pledge Card here and return to the school office.
