Educational Philosophy:

Beaches Episcopal School provides a Christian environment for learning through educational experiences which offer opportunities for academic achievements.  A challenging curriculum, including a commitment to enrichment programs, helps develop inquisitive and creative minds.  Our caring and qualified faculty and staff seek to provide opportunities for responsible citizenship by building self-esteem and leadership.  We are committed to guiding each individual student towards reaching his/her full potential and to developing lifelong learners.

Mission Statement:

As an outreach of St. Paul's by the Sea Episcopal Church, Beaches Episcopal School provides education in a caring, Christian environment that enriches the lives of its students and their families.  We are committed to providing a solid foundation for every aspect of our students' futures, and to help children grow intellectually, spiritually, emotionally, and physically in an atmosphere that promotes trust and freedom.

Head of School Message:
At Beaches Episcopal School, we believe that each child comes to the classroom door full of curiosity about the world and about his or her place in it. As educators, we want to nurture that sense of wonder, so that learning is an enjoyable experience. We want to help children grow in mind and heart so that they learn to value their own unique gifts, as well as their connections and responsibilities to others. We want our students to feel that they're not just at school, they're at home.

Accreditations and Affiliations:

Beaches Episcopal School is a member of the National Association of Independent Schools (NAIS).  BES is accredited bythe Florida Council of Independent Schools FCIS, the Florida Kindergarten Council FKC and the Board of Regents of the Episcopal diocese of Florida. FCIS is one of the largest private school associations in the state of Florida. Most of the private elementary, middle, and secondary schools in Jacksonville hold their accreditation from FCIS. BES has been a member of FCIS since 1979. In addition, the school holds an affiliation with the National Association of Episcopal Schools NAES.

B.E.S.
has one of the best student- to-teacher ratios of any private school in Jacksonville. In fact, smaller classes have been the hallmark of Beaches Episcopal School from the very beginning. Students are more successful and engaged when classes are smaller. Teachers can work with individual learning styles, adjusting to each child’s strengths and weakness. There’s more time for hands-on projects and more participation opportunities. In a smaller class, every voice can be heard and every contribution acknowledged.
